Meals On Wheels Week 2024
Meals on Wheels service users in South Wales enjoyed complimentary Welsh cakes this week thanks to funds raised in support of the NACC’s Meals on Wheels Week.
Customers in Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Cardiff, and Monmouthshire all received free Welsh cakes with their meals.
The NACC‘s Welsh Region Committee Members Pauline Batty, Gareth Edwards, and Melanie Bowen delivered hundreds of Welsh cakes to each local authority to be given free of charge to residents with their meals.
Mr Edwards recently completed a sponsored climb of the tallest mountain in Wales, Mount Snowdon, in support of Meals On Wheels Week, raising over £2000 for the cause.
Vantastec has worked closely with the NACC for over 10 years, supplying oven vans to Meals on Wheels services throughout the country.
He said:
“Meals on Wheels Week is a fantastic initiative that raises much-needed awareness of the importance of Meals on Wheels services, day centres, and lunch clubs for vulnerable people.
“It’s more than just a meal for them. These wonderful services are a lifeline, providing hot meals, regular social interaction and well-being checks for the people who need it most.
“We’d like to thank the NACC, the local authorities involved, and those who donated to the cause for their support throughout his project.
